Amazing Chocolate Choux Puffs recipe

Amazing Chocolate Choux Puffs Ingredients: Choux Puffs: 1 Cup Water 1 Cup Cake Flour 100g Butter or Margerine 4 Eggs 1 Tbls Vanilla Essence Pinch of Salt Filling: 500ml Fresh cream 1 Can Caramel Topping: 2 Slabs Cadbury Chocolate A little milk or cream Method:

  1. Boil the water and butter in a pot on the stove.
  2. Add the salt and vanilla essence at this stage.
  3. Once the water is rapidly boiling dump in the flour all at once and stir vigorously with your spoon as your remove completely from the heat. You’ll notice that the dough should form a ball and not really stick to the pot. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Using a hand mixer (or a spoon but a blender works better), add the eggs one at a time. Add one egg and mix it in completely before adding the other eggs one at a time.
  5. Put spoonfuls of the mixture on a greased baking tray (Spray’nBake or Butter works fine). Teaspoons if you want minis and tablespoons for bigger ones.
  6. Bake in preheated oven at 200C. After 15 minutes reduce heat to 180C and bake for another 15minutes. The smaller the puffs the less time to bake. Just watch it.
  7. When the time is up turn oven off and leave inside. After 15 minutes open door slightly to cool further.
    1. Remove from oven and prick with toothpick to remove remaining steam.
  8. The next part sounds complicated but it really isn’t. Take a chopstick or straw and make a hole at the bottom of the puff.

  1. Beat the cream until stiff.
  2. Mix in the caramel.
  3. Refrigerate to set. Finishing off:
  4. Put Cream/Caramel mixture into a piping bag and squirt into puff through hole you made at the bottom.
  5. If you don’t have a piping bag, wash out a milk sachet. Open the one end completely and dry thoroughly with a cloth. Voila…you have a piping bag. Fill with cream and cut a small hole in one of the opposite corners.
  6. Break Chocolate into pieces and melt with cream in microwave. Be careful as this should only take a few seconds. The blocks don’t have to be completely melted as it will melt as you stir it into the warmed cream. If it’s a bit too thick just add a little more cream.
  7. If you wanna be decadent, add a tablespoon of cocoa to the chocolate and stir in completely.
  8. Now top your filled puffs and be generous.
  9. Enjoy!
