This is totally random, but, maybe it inspires someone to try making their own goodies before buying preservative laden stuff.
This sauce is easily made in a few minutes, and is much better than any store-bought chocolate sauce.
Total Time: 10 minutes
Makes about 3 Cups (I usually half the recipe and it comes fine, and I never actually have to have left-overs)
2 1/4 cups granulated sugar3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour1/4 teaspoon salt1 1/2 cups whole milk (low-fat can be used to lower fat content, but changes taste)1 tablespoon vanilla
Place first four (dry) ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan, along with 1/2 cup of the milk and whisk to combine into a thick paste. On medium heat, add the remaining milk, bring the mixture to a boil, and whisk to combine well. When sauce boils, reduce heat to low and simmer very gently for 5 minutes, whisking often. Remove from heat, add vanilla, and cool.
Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, covered. I keep my old sauce bottle, just incase, but I rarely have any left over.
