Treat yourself as if you already are what you'd like to become.

Treat yourself as if you already are what you'd like to become.- Dr. Wayne Dyer

I was reading the book of Dr. Wayne Dyer when I came across this quote. I remember my former boss when I was in college and an intern in his company. He shared to us his humble beginnings before becoming a CEO and also one of his strategy why he became an owner of a company.

He started in a low position in his former company, he is doing the usual 9-5hr job as a regular employee, he don't have his own car and he ride a train going to the office. But despite of not earning that much, he told us he never felt like a regular employee, instead he always tells himself he is a CEO and he always acts like one. And then he shared to us his story about driving his dream car.

One day he went to a car dealer who sells expensive cars, he asked about the car that he wants, he asked about the price, about the engine and he asked if it is worthy for him to buy it. The sales agent did his best to convince my former boss that he'll never regret it if he buys the car. My former boss challenge the sales agent, so he asked him if it is okay for him to test drive the car and since this agent really wants to make a sale, he said yes to my former boss. He drove the car for at least 10-20 minutes and he really did enjoy every bit of it. After roaming around he told the agent he'll think about it and he'll come back if he is already decided to buy the car, but of course he never came back. He don't have the money to buy the car at that time, he's just regular employee. He told us that when he was driving the car, he felt like he owned it and he is a big time businessman and CEO.

Fastforward. Years after all the hardwork, determination and persistence, he is already a CEO of a multi million company. He already have the money to buy his dream car and he don't need to commute anymore. But my former boss didn't spend his money to buy his dream car, instead he bought a refurbished car that is still properly working and most of the time he still going to work riding a train because he don't want to be stuck in traffic and be late in the office. ?

At that time I don't understand why he did that and I think he is crazy because I have no idea about LOA, but later on when I found out about LOA and the tools and practices that it needs for us to manifest our desire, I realized that my former boss is a master of LOA. Haha!

I hope the story of my former boss inspire you. He is the most down to earth person I've ever met. I'm glad that even in a short period of time being an intern in his company, I've learned a lot from him. He is a great leader and good example to his employees.
